Giving

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

- Matthew 6:21

Why we give.

At the heart of our faith is a profound commitment to community, rooted in the teachings and practices of the early Church. The book of Acts provides a poignant image of this shared life: "All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need." (Acts 2:44-45). This early Christian community exemplified a deep sense of togetherness, pooling resources to ensure that no one lacked anything.

As the senior pastor, my vision for our tribe (church) is founded upon this Biblical principle. Giving to the storehouse is not merely an act of charity but a testament of our commitment to one another. It is a tangible way to live out the teachings of Jesus and to emulate the early Church's spirit of shared responsibility and mutual care.

By contributing to the storehouse, we are collectively storing up resources to guarantee that every member of our tribe is provided for. Just as the early believers did, we are called to sell, give, and share, so that within our church family, no one experiences want. This is our faith in action, ensuring that as long as we are all faithfully giving, no one in the tribe shall lack. It is both a privilege and responsibility to live out this biblical mandate, and we do so joyfully, knowing we are walking in the footsteps of the first believers.
